Ciel acts as facilitator and intermediary on behalf of buyer or seller principals, with the role defined for each transaction. We identify and qualify counterparties, carry the enquiry through specification and offer, and stay on the transaction through documentation, inspection and delivery — so our clients deal with one team rather than a chain of intermediaries.

How a transaction runs

Enquiry
You tell us the commodity, specification, volume and destination. We tell you honestly whether our network covers it.
- 02
Qualification
We identify and verify counterparties, and exchange KYC so both sides know who they are dealing with before terms are discussed.
- 03
Offer & Terms
Specification, price and terms are agreed in writing, with NCNDA and IMFPA put in place per transaction where applicable.
- 04
Execution
We coordinate documentation, inspection and delivery, and remain the single point of contact until the transaction closes.
How we do business
Verification first, every time.
Commodity trading attracts a great deal of noise and a certain amount of fraud. These are the rules we hold to on every transaction, without exception.
- KYC before terms
- A Client Information Sheet is exchanged and verified before commercial terms are discussed. Supporting corporate documents are provided on request.
- Banking at contractual stage only
- Bank details are issued only at the contractual stage, on company letterhead, signed by the authorised signatory.
- No bank changes by email
- Ciel will never change bank details by email alone. Any change is confirmed in writing and by telephone.
- Defined role per transaction
